Bear Grylls is wise

So you’re in a spot of trouble.

Well you aren’t the first and you sure won’t be the last — so have faith and keep your hope up — Whether you make it out alive or not will largely come down to you:  your attitudes and your actions.

— Bear Grylls

I happened upon this quote while looking at the Gerber Survival Series new product line for Bear Grylls.  Apparently there is a huge desire for survival kits and Parangs. In case you were wondering the Parang is a modern version of the traditional jungle tribesmen’s machette.

While I don’t really have a need for Parangs, I did find the words to be quite wise. When you think about it, life really is what you make of it. Your attitudes and actions shape each experience you’re in (for the better or for the worse). So often we complain about things we cannot control instead of working to make things better.

Let’s live our lives with confidence and hope, no matter what the circumstance.  Our actions can make us a positive force in the world. .

  1. Stumbled onto this post when browsing Word Press tags this morning. Just what I needed to hear today. Thanks!

  2. Preach it, sister.
This morning, I was struggling through drizzly rain with a heavy stroller, laden with precarious grocery bags and a kicking, cheeky two year old in need of lunch, and I thought I can either cry or laugh. And then tried hard to choose laughter. I’m sure the others on the busy street would have preferred to see me laughing to crying. So, hope and confidence, indeed! And we change the world.
